The blue-riband event in the 2019 Blancpain GT Sports Club calendar is almost upon us, but there’s still time to register for the SRO Speedweek at the legendary Belgian Grand Prix venue, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, 19-21 July.
Acting as a precursor to the Total 24 Hours of Spa, the SRO Speedweek offers more thrilling racing from the 7.004 km circuit, with the sound of GT3 machinery set to reverberate around the Ardennes Forest.
It also serves as round four of the 2019 Blancpain GT Sports Club campaign, which has already seen a wealth of exciting action, following a move to two identical races and a pair of qualifying sessions that offers little room for error.
What’s more, it is the first chance for fans to see their favourite manufacturers race wheel-to-wheel in some of motorsport’s most iconic corners, including the climb up Eau Rouge and Raidillon, the sweeping left-hander of Pouhon, and the fast kink of Blanchimont towards the end of the lap – a special experience for any passionate racing driver.
Alongside the spectacular on-track action, Blancpain GT Sports Club also offers one of the friendliest paddocks around, with drivers, teams, personnel and guests able to enjoy fine dining, drinks and a great social atmosphere throughout the weekend.
Also in action for the second edition of the SRO Speedweek is the British GT Championship, BRDC British F3, and Caterham Seven races, with the Blancpain GT Sports Club bringing the event to a close on Sunday evening.
