Provisional 2023 calendar released; Fanatec GT2 European Series cars to join Intercontinental GT Challenge and 24 Hours of Spa

The Fanatec GT2 European Series returns for what promises to be its biggest and best season yet in 2023, with a six-event 12-race calendar taking in some of Europe’s premier circuits including two exciting new venues. GT2 machinery will also be eligible to compete in all rounds of the International GT Challenge from 2023, including the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa.

Revealed at the SRO Motorsports Group annual press conference on the eve of the TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa today (Friday), the third season of the Fanatec GT2 European Series will begin at Monza, Italy, before returning to the stunning Styrian mountains for round two at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

The halfway point of the 2023 season will then break new ground at Circuit Dijon in France before the Series makes its debut at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, Portugal in July. Valencia, Spain, returns to the schedule for the penultimate championship battles before the Fanatec GT2 European Series title will be decided at Circuit Paul Ricard in October.

Fanatec GT2 European Series cars eligible for CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa and Intercontinental GT Challenge from 2023

As the Fanatec GT2 European Series continues to go from strength-to-strength, modern GT2 machinery will be introduced as the new Am category for all rounds of the Intercontinental GT Challenge, including the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, from 2023.

Eligible cars already include the Audi R8 LMS GT2, Brabham BT63 GT2 Concept, KTM X-BOW GT2, Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo GT2, Porsche GT2 RS CS, and the new Maserati MC20 GT2.
