PK Carsport duo, Steines Longin and Peter Guelinckx carried on their strong early form at Dijon by keeping their Audi R8 LMS GT2 top of the pile as the Fanatec GT2 European Series runners continued to get acquainted with the new venue.
Having also set the pace during FP1 with a 1m17.174s effort, the duo took a chunk of time off that initial benchmark to dip into the 1m16s this time around, with Longin’s 16.710s best putting the car almost 0.4s clear at the front.
Henry Hassid and Anthony Beltoise were second fastest aboard the LP Racing Audi R8 LMS GT2, themselves just falling 0.080s shy of dipping into the 16-second bracket.
Pierre Kaffer ensured that Audi locked out the top three places, winding up just 0.2s shy of Hassid/Beltoise in the sister LP Racing R8 he shares with Michael Doppelmayr.
Benjamin and Mauro Ricci continued the new Mercedes-AMG GT2’s fast start to life by putting their Akkodis ASP Team entry fourth overall, less than a second shy of the outright best lap of the session, signalling how tight things should be this weekend.
Manthey Racing’s Porsche GT2 RS CS was fifth in the hands of Christoph Breuer and Marco Holzer, while Martin Koch and Reinhard Kofler were the best of the KTM contingent aboard the #17 True Racing X-Bow GT2 that rounded out the top six.
Current Am championship leader, Jan Krabec pushed his RTR Projects KTM to head the final session prior to qualifying, keeping the two Ebimotors Porsche entries of Leonardi Gorini in the #911, and Aurelijus Rusteika and Mantas Janavicius at bay.
Next up is qualifying, which is scheduled to begin at 16:30 CEST.
