LP Racing led the way once again in Pre-Qualifying at Circuit Paul Ricard, but this time the #18 Audi pairing of Pierre Kaffer and Michael Doppelmayr set the bar with a best lap time of 2:05.279.
Second fastest was the PK Carsport duo of Peter Guelinckx and Stienes Longin, who clocked in three spots ahead of Pro-Am title rivals, Henry Hassid and Anthony Beltoise in fifth.
In yet another incredibly close Fanatec GT2 session just 0.128s spanned the top two championship contenders, giving no clear indication of which Audi crew has the upper hand around the Le Castellet circuit.
Race winners on their series debut in Spain, Jean Luc Beaubelique and Ludovic Badey brought the #87 Akkodis ASP Mercedes-AMG home third fastest, ahead of fellow newcomers MZR and the #812 driven by Martin Koch and Reinhard Kofler. Mattia di Giusto and Stéphane Ratel completed the top six in the #88 LP Racing Audi.
Jan Krabec in the #89 RTR Projects KTM took the upper hand in Am with a top time of 2:06.692, 0.6s ahead of title rivals, True Racing’s Klaus Angerhofer and Sehdi Sarmini who finished fourth fastest in class.
The NM Racing Team make their Fanatec GT2 debut this weekend. Drivers Stéphane Perrin and Jakub Knoll seem to be settling nicely into the #888 Mercedes-AMG with second fastest in class. Aurelijus Rusteika and Mantas Janavicius once again showed their pace aboard the #5 Ebimotors Porsche to finish third.
Qualifying to set the grids for the final two Fanatec GT2 European Series races of the season will follow tonight at 19:00 CEST.
