Reigning GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli champions, LP Racing has confirmed Philippe Prette will return to defend the Am class title in the #2 Maserati GT2.
Joining the series full-time last term, Prette proved a commanding force in the Am category, claiming pole in race one and a first class win in race two of the season opener at Circuit Paul Ricard.
Four further wins followed amid eight podium finishes and eight pole positions, before Prette sealed the Am crown by two points from the Akkodis ASP crew of Jean-Luc Beaubelique and Gilles Vannelet.
The Monegasque driver, and father to GT World Challenge Europe star Louis Prette, is now keen to add back-to-back titles to his resume.
LP Racing brings an unrivalled pedigree to GT2 Europe, having supported the young series from its first full season in 2021, claiming the Am honours in 2022 and Pro-Am title the following year.
Team Principal Luca Pirri commented: “We are extremely pleased that Philippe Prette will be defending his AM class crown with us once again in 2025, driving our Maserati MC20 GT2.
“Philippe has consistently proven himself to be both exceptionally quick and incredibly reliable. While last season saw a few unfortunate mishaps beyond his control, we are confident that this year will bring a smoother and even more successful campaign.
“One of the biggest challenges in 2025 will be the new 60-minute race format, which presents a significant physical test for solo drivers. However, we have no doubt that Philippe, a true fighter, is fully committed and preparing for an outstanding season ahead.
“With LP Racing and Maserati, our mission is clear: to bring another title home. We can’t wait to hit the track and fight for victory!”
Returning Am champion, Prette added: “I am very happy to join LP Racing for the 2025 season, a team that has proven to be the perfect choice for me - not only in terms of performance and reliability but also because of the family-like atmosphere that made me feel at home from day one.
“I am fully committed to making this a great season and will give my all on track, while also enjoying every moment behind the wheel of the Maserati MC20 GT2, an absolutely incredible racing machine.”
The #2 LP Racing Maserati GT2 crew will start its 2025 campaign with two one-hour races at Circuit Paul Ricard, 11-13 April, in support of GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS.
