Misano FP2 ends with Luigi Lucchini on top again, as Klaus Dieter Frers goes quickest in Iron Cup

BMS Scuderia Italia SRL driver Luigi Lucchini (#7 Ferrari 458 GT3) turned up the heat in the second free practice session, going fastest ahead of Patrick Van Glabeke (#488 AF Corse 488 GT3). Klaus Dieter Frers (#3 Artega Rennsport Ferrari 488 GT3) continued his perfect start to the weekend to top the Iron Cup class.

It was an impressive performance by Luigi Lucchini, who led the majority of the session before improving to a 1:36.259 on his final run. Patrick Van Glabeke showed strong pace again as he moved into second place, although his time was set on lap nine, whereas most others went fastest later in the session.

Coach McKansy (HP Racing International) went third quickest for the second successive session in the #17 Lamborghini Huracan GT3, ahead of Mario Cordoni (#70 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3), who was one of the only driver unable to improve on his time from first practice.

Rounding out the top-five was Karim Ojjeh (#2 Boutsen Ginion BMW M6 GT3), the championship leader was just 0.030 seconds ahead of Klaus Dieter Frers, who has gone on to top every session in the Iron Cup since free practice one at Paul Ricard.

Stephen Earle (#111 Kessel Racing Ferrari 488 GT3) was second in the class for over-60s, with Louis-Philippe Soenen greatly improving his time to move to within a second of the American.

In the new-for-2018 Titanium Cup, Coach McKansy led the way, ahead of Mario Cordoni and Karim Ojjeh; all three are currently fighting for the class lead in the championship, with the Saudi Arabian driver currently occupying top spot.
