Rinaldi Racing’s Vadim Kogay was quickest of the Blancpain GT Sports Club field in the bronze test at Circuit Paul Ricard on board his Ferrari 488 GT3, holding a 0.081 second advantage over BMS Scuderia Italia driver Luigi Lucchini’s Ferrari 458 GT3.
With the temperature climbing during the one-hour session this morning, 12 Blancpain GT Sports Club competitors took to the Le Castellet circuit, so to best prepare themselves for the second round of the 2019 season.
Kogay’s time of 1:57.813 allowed him to stay ahead of Lucchini, who returns this weekend having missed the first round due to a damaged car. The Italian was followed by Titanium Cup front-runner Lee Mowle, who represents ERC Sport again for the French round on board a Mercedes AMG GT3.
Titanium Cup rival Coach McKansy was marginally behind the British GT convert, but is also adapting to his 2019-spec Lamborghini Huracan GT3, which he’s driving for the first time.
Mario Cordoni was fifth in the AF Corse Ferrari 488 GT3, ahead of Kessel Racing’s Stephen Earle, who leads the Iron Cup standings heading into this weekend. The American put his Ferrari 488 GT3 marginally ahead of fellow class competitor and team-mate Rick Peter Lovat, who was seventh overall.
Series debutant Denis Remenyako, running a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 2019, was eighth fastest for Capital Racing Team, ahead of Robert Zwinger’s older-spec Huracan. The Slovakian is also taking part in his maiden Blancpain GT Sports Club race for HB Racing.
Attempto Racing’s Bernd Kleinbach was next, followed by AF Corse’s Ken Abe, and Dilantha Malagamuwa, who continues in the Huracan with HB Racing this weekend.
Practice and qualifying will take place tomorrow, before the two races get underway on Sunday, both of which will be live streamed on our website, Facebook page and YouTube channel.
