Sonoma, CA - Jason Daskalos scored both poles for GT Sports Club America Series Rounds 3 and 4 at Sonoma Raceway during Saturday morning's 30-minute qualifying session. Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2020 championships will take place Saturday and Sunday at the 2.5 mile, 12-turn natural terrain circuit in Northern California.
The 30-minute qualifying session was divided into two 15-minute heats to set the grids for both rounds.
In the first heat, Daskalos in the #27 Daskalos Motorsports Audi R8 LMS Ultra had the fastest time of the session (1:42.771) to score the pole for Saturday's race. Ryan Gates in the #311 311RS Motorsport Porsche 911 GT2 RS CS had the second fastest time of the heat (1:44.873) and will join Daskalos on the front row.
GMG Racings' Jason Bell, driving the #2 Porsche 911 GT2 RS CS had the third fastest time of the session at 1:46.161, while Titanium class competitor Kyle Washington in the #32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT2 RS CS had the fourth fastest time overall and first in class with a 1:46.923.
Iron Division competitor Stu Frederick was fifth fastest in the session in his #57 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT2 RS CS (1:47.236).
In the second heat, Daskalos' 1:43.827 was tops and good for the pole, while Gates' 1:45.022 secured the second starting position for Sunday. Bell's 1:45.775 was third fastest of the session, while Frederick (1:46.347), and Washington (1:46.948) will start fourth and fifth respectively and first in their classes.
Results are provisional until posted final. GT Sports Club America competitors now get set for Saturday's Round 3 race scheduled to go green at 1:45 pm Pacific. The race will be streamed live on youtube.com/GTWorld.
