SONOMA, California - Ryan Gates and the #311 311RS Motorsport Porsche 911 RS CS led the GT Sports Club field to the green flag for Round 4 of the 2020 season. The #27 Daskalos Motorsports Audi R8 LMS Ultra of Jason Daskalos was late to the grid and removed from pole position and would start from the back of the field.
It only took a matter of minutes, however, as Daskalos would regroup and fly through the field and pass Gates for the overall lead. Jason Bell in the #2 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT2 RS CS would slot into third overall, second in the GT2 Overall class.
Stu Frederick and the #57 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT2 RS CS would run fourth overall, first in the Iron class with Kyle Washington and the #32 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT2 RS CS running fifth overall, first in the Titanium class.
15 minutes into the race the first safety car was called as Washington got into the side of Frederick at turn 2, causing both cars to DNF.
The race would get back to green with 10 minutes left on the clock with Daskalos leading Gates and Bell.
Daskalos would never look back and take the Overall win, his second of the weekend.
Gates would finish second overall, first in the GT2 Overall class, his third straight.
Jason Bell would come home second in the GT2 Overall class.
GT Sports Club returns to action August 28th-30th at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin for rounds 5 and 6 of the 2020 season.
