- Peter Guelinckx and Bert Longin take the top spot for the first time in free practice
- High Class Racing’s retirement puts PK Carsport in prime position
- Leonardo Gorini heads the Am class ahead of qualifying at 15:50
Peter Guelinckx and Bert Longin led their first Fanatec GT2 European practice session of the season so far at Spa-Francorchamps, setting a fastest time of 2:44.791 during an extremely wet start to the afternoon in the Ardennes Forest.
The #81 PK Carsport Audi has it all to play for this weekend as the duo lie second in the Pro-Am title fight. With the #33 High Class Racing Audi R8 LMS taking no further part in today’s action due to a heavy off-track excursion at Raidillon earlier this morning, Guelinckx and Longin have the ideal opportunity to close the 26-point margin to the class leaders.
Chasing the #81 car up the timing screens was the #23 KTM X-Bow of Michael Bleekemolen and Peter Kox, 0.669 adrift of the top spot. The #5 Speed Factory Porsche rounded out the top three.
Leonardo Gorini then topped the Am order in the #911 LP Racing Porsche ahead of class rivals Kris Rosenberger and Hans Stuck, and current Am championship leader Christoph Ulrich, the #7 car back out after a slight off in the earlier session.
Less fortunate was the #123 Teichmann Racing KTM X-Bow, which will take no further part in the race weekend after this morning’s excursion at Pouhon.
Sehdi Sarmini and Sefan Rosina in the #16 True Racing KTM and Stephane Ratel and Luca Pirri in #88 Audi rounded out the Pro-Am field, ahead of the #32 Target Racing Lamborghini and final True Racing entry, #17.
