True Racing by Reiter Engineering came to the fore in the final Fanatec GT2 European Series Free Practice session at the Red Bull Ring, locking out the quickest times in both the Pro-Am and Am categories ahead of all-important qualifying tomorrow morning.
Joining the Series for the first time this weekend, Horst Felbermayr Jr and Reinhard Kofler put in a late-session charge to record a best time of 1:31.064 and take over the top spot in the #14 KTM X-BOW.
Klaus Angerhofer and Hubert Trunkenpolz then topped the Am class times in the #17 True Racing machine to make it an all-Austrian affair at the team's home round of the season.
The sister #16 KTM of Filip Sladecka and Stefan Rosina came a close second, ahead of the leaders in this morning's session - Stéphane Ratel and Bernd Schneider in the Invitational SPS Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series.
In another incredibly close session where 0.8-seconds covered the top 11 cars, a mere eight thousands of a second separated LP Racing team-mates Elia Erhart and Michael Doppelmayr’s Audi from Leonardo Gorini’s #911 Porsche for second and third in the Am order.
Qualifying for round two in Austria takes place at 10:45 Saturday morning, followed by the first 50-minute race of the weekend at 17:00. The Fanatec GT2 European Series action concludes with race two at 11:15 on Sunday. Both races will be streamed live via the series website and GT World YouTube channel.
