PK Carsport Audi & True Racing KTM lead Valencia Pre-Qualifying

The PK Carsport duo of Peter Guelinckx and Stienes Longin set the bar for Pre-Qualifying at Circuit Ricardo Tormo this afternoon, setting a best time of 1:33.991 ahead of the penultimate round of the Fanatec GT2 European Series in Spain.

The #1 Audi took the initiative from early on in the 60-minute session to top the timing screens come the halfway mark before Stienes Longin shaved another half a second off his top time.

It was a two-way fight for second between series newcomers MZR TKM and the #67 LP Racing Audi. Reinhard Kofler came out on top of that battle with a time of 1:34.407 – just 0.1s ahead of Henry Hassid’s best effort in third.

Racing for the first time in Pro-Am this weekend, Ludovic Badey put in a impressive debut performance aboard the #87 Akkodis ASP Mercedes-AMG to come within 0.23s of Hassid and finish fourth. 

Mattia di Giusto clocked in a comfortable fifth fastest in the #88 LP Racing Audi, while True Racing’s Stefan Rosina completed the Pro-Am top six.

The #16 sister True Racing KTM set the Am-class pace, Klaus Angerhofer punching in a top time of 1:35.731 to also place him sixth fastest overall. Class championship leader, RTR Projects’ Jan Krabec managed to finish second fastest, just 0.043s ahead of Ebimotors’ Mantas Janavicius in the #5 Porsche.

The Fanatec GT2 field returns to action with Qualifying at 10:00 CEST tomorrow (Saturday).
