Van Der Horst Motorsport joins Fanatec GT2 with Am-class Maserati

Van Der Horst Motorsport will be an exciting new addition to the Fanatec GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli grid in 2024, entering a striking Maserati MC20 for the coming season.

The all-Netherlands outfit will be headed by Team Owner-Driver Gerard Van Der Horst, who will compete for honours in the Am class with fellow countryman Jeroen Van Den Heuvel in their #99 Maserati.

Van Der Horst himself has been a regular face in the one-make Lamborghini Super Trofeo series, claiming five titles including most recently in 2022 with three wins to his name with his own squad.

Now with Fanatec GT2 machinery at his disposal, the Dutchman is looking forward to the team's latest challenge, saying: "We are looking forward to competing in GT2 with SRO this season. We are completely new to GT2 and the Maserati, but we are here to enjoy the competition, learn the car and of course, most importantly, we are joining the series to give our best performances.

"I have done many years of racing with Super Trofeo, and now we are ready for a new challenge and a new adventure. We obviously want to join and battle it out for the podium this year, so we will see what we can achieve together."

Van Der Horst Motorsport kicks off its maiden assault on the Fanatec GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli at Circuit Paul Ricard over the weekend of 5-6 April.
