Titles up for grabs as GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli returns to Valencia

• Pro-Am and Am titles could be settled ahead of next month’s finale
• Spanish venue back on the calendar after one-year absence
• Entry list features machinery from Audi, KTM, Lamborghini, Maserati and Mercedes-AMG
ENTRY LIST: VALENCIA

Champions could be crowned this weekend (19-21 September) when the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli heads to Circuit Ricardo Tormo Valencia for the penultimate event of the 2025 season.

The 4km circuit returns to the calendar after a one-year hiatus and forms the first part of a Spanish doubleheader, with Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya set to conclude the season next month (10–12 October).

GT2 Europe joins a packed weekend of action alongside GT World Challenge powered by AWS, Porsche Carrera Cup France and the Clio Cup Series. The event will feature even more fan activities thanks to ROOW, including drifting, track shows, an exhibition of cars and motorbikes, and live music in the paddock.

PRO-AM: Title within reach for Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra

Bronek Formanek and Stefan Rosina (#11 Lamborghini) head to Valencia with a strong chance of wrapping up the Pro-Am title. The Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra drivers endured their lowest scoring weekend of the season last time out at Misano, yet they still enjoy a 46-point advantage at the top of the table.

The only crew with a realistic chance of keeping the title alive is the DINAMIC Motorsport duo of Roberto Pampanini and Mauro Calamia (#7 Maserati). They occupy a solid second in the standings after taking a win at Zandvoort and five more podium finishes across the season. A return to the top step this weekend would boost their chances of taking the fight to Barcelona.

Pampanini and Calamia are 26 points clear of third place, which is currently occupied by Alberto De Martin and Nil Montserrat (#115 NM Racing Team Mercedes-AMG). The Spanish crew scored their first pole of the season at Misano but could not convert it into a maiden race win. Nevertheless, with four podium finishes to their credit, the NM line-up has been a consistent threat.

RTR Projects will also chase Pro-Am honours at Valencia. Since joining forces at Spa-Francorchamps, Davit Kajaia and Mato Homola have formed an impressive partnership aboard the #89 KTM. This weekend, they will hope to give the X-BOW GT2 its first Pro-Am win since the series visited Monza exactly one year ago.

AM: Prette primed for early title celebration

The Am title looks very likely to be settled in Spain, with Philippe Prette on the cusp of successfully defending his crown. Prette achieved perfection at Misano, taking both race wins from pole aboard the #1 LP Racing Maserati. With six victories on the board, the Italian's advantage over his nearest competing rival is a staggering 70 points.

The driver aiming to stop him is Petr Lisa, who will pilot the #294 RTR Projects Mercedes-AMG alongside Ondrej Rokos. The Czech pairing is set to reunite at Valencia after sharing a car at the opening two events of 2025. Lisa faces a significant task in Spain, needing to reduce Prette's advantage by 19 points to retain even a mathematical chance of the title.

Oliver Freymuth also has a long shot at catching Prette, though he would need to cut the gap by 32 points to still be in the hunt at the finale. The German returns to the #24 AKF Motorsport Lamborghini after missing the trip to Misano and will once again run solo. LP Racing will also compete in the Am class, with Luca Pirri and a to-be-confirmed teammate sharing the #88 Audi.

As ever, qualifying and both 60-minute races will be streamed live via the GT World YouTube channel.
