Jon Minshaw set the fastest time in the opening free practice session at Silverstone, which plays host to round two of this year’s Blancpain GT Sports Club (May 12-13).
The British GT points leader, who is making his debut in SRO Motorsports Group’s Bronze-only drivers series this weekend, lapped around the 5.891km landmark on a 2:19.605 flyer with his #33 Barwell Motorsport-run Lamborghini Huracan GT3.
Minshaw edged Autovitesse Garage R.Affolter’s Cédric Leimer and his #963 Huracan by over two seconds in a session that took place on a wet track and ended with a late red flag period.
Last year’s Blancpain GT Sports Club runner-up Nicolas Vandierendonck completed a trio of Lamborghinis atop the FP1 timesheets with his Shipex by Ombra Racing-entered machine.
Former Le Mans 24 Hours class winner Karim Ojjeh slotted into fourth on the #6 BMW M6 GT3 entered by Boutsen Ginion, as AF Corse’s Christoph Ulrich rounded up the top five on the #51 Ferrari 458 Italia GT3.


In the Iron Cup class catering to Blancpain GT Sports Club drivers aged 60 and over, Klaus Dieter Frers outpaces points leader Stephen Earle, with the #3 Artega Rennsport-entered Ferrari 488 GT3 lapping one full second faster than the #111 Kessel Racing-run Ferrari 458 Italia GT3.
