ALTON, Virginia – Ryan Gates paced the field in the first ever GT Sports Club America Series practice at VIRginia International Raceway. The 30-minute session was held under sunny 80-degree Fahrenheit conditions.
In the overall class, Gates behind the wheel of the #311 311RS Motorsport Porsche 911 GT2 RS CS set an early fast lap of 1:49.707 and as the session went on steadily improved his times settling in at a 1:49.652 when the session ended.
GMG Racing's Jason Bell set the second fastest overall time in the #2 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport with a 1:50.173. Karl Leinsing in the #54 Atech Design Porsche 911 GT2 RS CS was third fastest with a 1:54.818.
Iron Division competitor Stu Frederick, piloting the #57 GMG Racing Porsche 911 GT2 RS CS posted a 1:52.436.
GT Sports Club America Series drivers will next take to the track for the second practice of the weekend with a green flag start scheduled for 3:35pm Eastern.
