PK Carsport and LP Racing Audis head first practice at Misano

Round three of the Fanatec GT2 European Series got under way with the first free practice session at Misano, Italy, where the PK Carsport and LP Racing Audis topped the respective Pro-Am and Am class times.

After the 60-minute session, current Pro-Am championship leaders Stienes Longin and Nicolas Saelens emerged fastest in the #11 Audi R8 LMS GT2, with the time of 1:35.891 the benchmark to beat so far.

Brabham Automotive Factory Racing came the closest to that time, Anders Fjordbach pushing the Brabham BT63 GT2 to within 0.4 seconds of the #11 PK Carsport car.

Back on form after a tricky weekend last time out in Austria, the High Class Racing Audi duo of Anders Fjordbach and Michael Vergers made a welcome return to the top three, just 0.13 seconds behind the Brabham.

Class winner in Austria, Elia Erhart set the fastest Am time of 1:36.457, giving the LP Racing Audi a comfortable cushion to second in class – Klaus Angerhofer and Hubert Trunkenpolz in the #17 True Racing KTM X-BOW.

Target Racing’s new Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo 2 entry of Dimitrios Deverikos and Dmitry Gvazava got their debut Fanatec GT2 European Series weekend off to a promising start with third fastest in Am.

The second free practice session takes place at 16:20 ahead of qualifying at 19:10.
