NM Racing surged to the top as Friday’s Fanatec GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli action concluded at Misano, Stéphane Perrin and Jörg Viebahn setting the pace in pre-qualifying.
Under beautiful sunset evening skies, the Spanish Mercedes-AMG crew clocked the quickest time of the day as Perrin and Viebahn lapped the Italian circuit in 1:35.517s as night began to fall.
Closest to beating them were the two LP Racing Maserati GT2 entries. Leonardo Gorini and Carlo Tamburini found more speed in the closing minutes to bring the #1 car up into second place, just 0.023s off the ultimate best.
Philippe Prette confirmed his strong Friday form with third place in the #2 Maserati for the Italian team, putting him quickest of the Am class runners also.
The team’s third car was fourth as Pierre Kaffer and Michael Doppelmayr climbed the order late on in the #18 Audi R8 LMS GT2, having taken the top spot in free practice earlier in the afternoon.

The top five was rounded out by Mauro Ricci and Ludovic Badey in the first of two Akkodis ASP Mercedes-AMG cars. The #61 Pro-Am squad were tailed closely by their Am team-mates Jean-Luc Beaubelique and Gilles Vannelet, who lead the early stages in the #87 machine.
Team MZR’s Reinhard Kofler and Martin Koch were next up in the first of the KTM X-BOWs, ahead of the Motorsport 98 Mercedes of Eric De Doncker and Loris Hezemans. The RTR Projects KTM of Jan Krabec and Erik Janis and TFT Racing Maserati of Alexandre Leory completed a competitive top 10 covered by just 1.4 seconds.
Qualifying kicks off at 11:25 on Saturday morning with two 20 minute sessions to decide the grids, before race one which begins from 19:25. Watch the action into the night live on GT World via Youtube.
