DINAMIC Motorsport makes rapid start by topping Free Practice at Valencia

DINAMIC Motorsport kicked off the penultimate round of the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli at Valencia in the strongest possible way, setting the early pace in Free Practice on Friday afternoon.

The #7 Maserati GT2 clocked a best time of 1:35.061s after the day’s first hour of on-track action at the Spanish circuit, its drivers Roberto Pampanini and Mauro Calamia ending the session two tenths clear of their nearest rivals.

Closest to the Maserati was the Mercedes-AMG of local entry, NM Racing Team. Its all-Spanish line-up of Alberto de Martin and Nil Montserrat traded fastest times with DINAMIC Motorsport car in the initial minutes, coming up just 0.2s shy by the session’s conclusion.

A close third was the KTM X-BOW of RTR Projects, piloted by Mato Homola and Viktor Mraz, while Am class points leader Philippe Prette was a strong fourth overall and quickest in his category. Prette could mathematically wrap up the Am title this weekend, should the #1 Maserati driver leave Valencia 52 points clear of his nearest rival.

Likewise, the Pro-Am crown could also be clinched with a round to spare should the #11 Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra duo of Bronek Formanek and Stefan Rosina extend their 46-point cushion past the same number. The Czech squad’s Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo 2 finished fifth fastest, just ahead of the LP Racing Audi R8 LMS GT2 machine of Luca Pirri.

Prette's nearest competing title challenger, Petr Lisa - sharing with Ondrej Rokos - finished seventh in the times on his return to the wheel of the Mercedes-AMG which he piloted at Circuit Paul Ricard and Zandvoort for RTR Projects, while Oliver Freymuth rounded out the top eight in his #24 AKF Motorsport Lamborghini.

Pre-Qualifying is next up, offering another 60 minutes of track time starting from 17:40 CEST.
