NM Racing Team doubles its efforts with twin Mercedes-AMG entry

NM Racing Team will expand to a two-car entry for this year’s GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli, the team’s biggest campaign yet in the category.

The Spanish squad made its GT2 Europe debut in 2023 with the Mercedes-AMG marque and enjoyed its strongest season yet last year with team head Nil Montserrat and Alberto de Martin finishing second in the Pro-Am points with two wins and five podium finishes.

For this year the squad will expand with Branden Oxley and Adrián Ferrer handling a Mercedes-AMG GT2 in the Silver class, while Montserrat and De Martin return to continue their Pro-Am attack. Both Oxley and Ferrer will make their GT2 Europe debuts this year and will be eligible for the new SRO GT Academy contest.

Montserrat boasts huge racing experience, having worked his way up the single-seater ladder before establishing NM Racing Team in 2015 and excelling in GT racing. De Martin also has a long competition career having raced GT cars for over a decade.

Oxley also comes from a single-seater background having started his car-racing career in Spanish Formula 4 before graduating through British GB3. He raced in the GT4 European Series with NM last year where he became a podium finisher in the season finale at Barcelona.

Ferrer enjoyed a successful karting career before graduating to cars in 2024 and winning the Toyota GR Cup Spain title at his first attempt in a GR86. He has also competed in the American ARCA Mendards stock car series.

As Silver-graded Mercedes-AMG drivers aged under 30, both Oxley and Ferrer will be eligible for the new SRO GT Academy contest, which will reward its winner with a fully funded seat (excluding crash damage) with a Mercedes-AMG Customer Team for the 2027 GT World Europe Endurance Cup.

Three of the drivers warmed up for the season by securing class wins in the GT Winter Series, with Montserrat and Oxley scoring a hat-trick of victories at Portimão aboard the Mercedes-AMG GT2, before De Martin and Montserrat did likewise in Valencia.

NM Racing Team head Nil Montserrat says: “We’re very happy to confirm our two-car line-up for the 2026 GT2 European Series season. We are excited to see two of our young talents stepping up from GT4 into the GT2 category: Branden Oxley and Adrián Ferrer. Both drivers will compete for the SRO GT Academy and Silver Cup titles, ready to prove their speed, determination and potential at the next level.

“In the second car, competing in the Pro-Am category, Alberto and myself will be back on track together, aiming to build on last season’s strong results and continue Alberto’s impressive progress throughout the championship. A new season, new challenges, and the same ambition.”
