Härtling and Thilenius on top in first Monza free practice

+ Result: Free Practice, Monza

SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm drivers Jay Mo Härtling and David Thilenius came out on top of a tight first Free Practice session of the season at Monza, narrowly beating the team’s sister Mercedes-AMG GT2.

The twin green and black AMGs bolted out of the pitlane early on and made the most of their clean air for Moritz Wiskirchen to lead the pack aboard the #110 he shares with Wilhelm Kühne. Wiskirchen’s best stood for the first quarter of the session before Härtling bettered the benchmark in the #111. Wiskirchen fought back, but could only get within 0.138s of the sister car.

Stefan Rosina and Gerhard Tweraser put their LP Racing Maserati third and fastest in the silver class, ahead of the #115 NM Racing Team Mercerdes-AMG shared by Nil Montserrat and Alberto de Martin. The Silver NM entry driven by Branden Oxley and Adrian Ferrer was right behind in fifth with the Ginetta of Mikkel Njor and Ethan Gialdini rounding out the top six.

Despite an off in testing and a resulting change of car, Philippe Prette led the way in the Masters class in his LP Racing Maserati ahead of Petr Lisa and Ondrej Rokos’ RTR Projects Mercedes-AMG, and Stéphane Ratel in LP Racing’s Audi.

Pre-Qualifying is set for 14:50.
