Niccolò Pirri set the pace in opening practice at Zandvoort, with his mid-session best helping the #8 LP Racing Maserati to the top of the times.
Jay Mo Härtling was first out of the pits in the #111 SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm Mercedes-AMG, with the German driver setting the early benchmark.
Running was then interrupted when Marius Aigner hit the wall at Turn 1, bringing out the red flags while the MZR KTM X-Bow was recovered. The session went green again with 30 minutes left and Pirri wasted little time in establishing himself out front before handing across to Thomas Yu Lee.
Pirri’s lap 10 best put the car almost a second clear and set up a late chase. Roberto Pampanini initially cut the gap to 0.4s in the Dinamic Motorsport Maserati, before Mike Simpson’s Ginetta and Stefan Rosina’s LP Racing Audi both trimmed the gap further.
One final effort from Ethan Gialdini caught the eye, with the Frenchman’s final tour finishing just 0.095s shy of Pirri’s best. Rosina and Lorenzo Marcucci were third ahead of Simpson/Lawrence Tomlinson’s Ginetta, Pampanini/Mauro Calamia’s Maserati and Härtling and David Thilenius in the lead Mercedes-AMG. Philippe Prette was fastest in the Masters class, with his best lap putting him eighth overall in the #1 Maserati.
