NM Racing Team was fastest out of the starting gates as Free Practice kicked off the action for round three of the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli from Spa-Francorchamps.
Cars ventured out onto a mildly damp circuit in the Ardennes hoping to make their mark in the opening 60-minute session, and the all-Spanish #115 Mercedes-AMG squad of Nil Montserrat and Alberto De Martin were quick to come to the fore as the former put in a strong effort of 2:22.156s in the early running.
That lap proved unbeatable by the time the chequered flag waved, beating their closest rivals by just over half a second. Pro-Am championship leaders Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra were second fastest, three-time Spa-Francorchamps race winner Stefan Rosina sharing its Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo EVO2 with Bronek Formanek.
Third place went the way of the #89 RTR Projects entry of Davit Kajaia, the Georgian making an instant impression ahead of his series debut in Belgium alongside regular Mato Homola in the KTM X-Bow GT2.

Philippe Prette was quickest of the Am class runners in fourth overall. The points-leading #1 LP Racing Maserati GT2 headed a close pack of four fellow Am crews, with the Akkodis ASP duo of Christophe Bourret and Pascal Gibon (Mercedes-AMG) coming closest to spoiling the party in fifth place outright.
Sixth was the Lamborghini of AKF Motorsport and its German charger, Oliver Freymuth, followed by the second RTR Projects KTM of Viktor Mraz and Petr Lisa, the latter having raced a Mercedes-AMG for the Czech outfit in the opening two events.
The DINAMIC Motorsport Maserati pairing of Zandvoort winners Roberto Pampanini and Mauro Calamia rounded out the top eight, while the session marked the first outing of 2025 for the #88 LP Racing Audi R8 LMS GT2 of Italian drivers Daniele Cazzaniga and Gianluca Giorgi.
Next on the Spa-Francorchamps itinerary is Pre-Qualifying from 16:30 CEST this afternoon, granting GT2 Europe competitors a further 60 minutes to prepare for tomorrow’s Qualifying sessions.
